For King County Residents:
Donate Supplies
UPDATE 9/25: The EconoLodge has been swept! King County forcibly displaced 150 asylum seekers who were sheltering outside the EconoLodge and destroyed over $2000 worth of personal belongings, cooking supplies, and camping gear. Single adults were offered, at most, five days of housing from the County. Camp residents who were at work, school, or medical appointments during the sweep lost their belongings and were not offered any housing or services.
We are collecting funds through the general fund for emergency hotel stays and to replace personal belongings for displaced residents.
Donate To Our General Fund
Venmo Global Solidarity Network with the note “Econo”! These funds go purchasing basic needs such as food, camping supplies, and clean water.
Donate To Specific People
We only use the general fund to purchase communal items. When refugees need specific items, we fundraise for them specifically instead. Please check SKCEMA’s instagram for an up to date list of these fundraisers.
Donate Your Time
We need volunteers of all roles, locations, and ability levels, including drivers, planning events, fundraisings, doing laundry, administrative work, advertising, and more! We follow the lead of asylum seekers to the greatest extent possible, and broadly are committed to anti-racism, decolonization, and language justice. We ask that all volunteers share these aims.
